VO Beauty Box Review by Sam – October 2017

Being nicknamed the queen of Halloween, a lot of the other beauty boxes disappointed me with the lack of theme for this awesome month .

Until the VO Beauty Box creeped through my door!

I can already hear you gasping with excitement….

A Halloween beauty box?

But wait it gets better….

Not only is it perfectly themed VO beauty are a Vegan , Organic and cruelty free company, they also donate 20p a box to an animal friendly charity , making this box a completely guilt free treat IMO and we have a discount code !!!

Use the code VOBBOX10 to get 10% of your first box

I was super excited to unbox this and would like to say a huge thank you to Pam from VOBeauty for sending me this box to reviewyou can check out my live unboxing video here…

It came well packaged in a sleek black box sealed with the VOBeauty label. Upon opening it my excitement grew as I was greeted with a pure black tissue paper sealed with a pumpkin sticker with No tricks just treats printed boldly on it . After carefully peeling it open I nearly released a squeak of excitement as it revealed a sea of orange shredded paper .

And wow what a treat it is!

The first item I jumped to was inside a Halloween party bag. I’m sure I got a lot more excited about this than a fully grown woman should, but hey I really do love  Halloween and touches like this just made the box all the more awesome .

Upon removing the item from the ghoulishly cute bag I was met with a sleek black box with a VE cosmetics sticker covered in unicorns. Inside was a glossy black quad palette with the VE logo and when I flipped it open I was stunned .

image24 Gorgeous shimmering metallic shades stared back at me begging to be swatched.

Who am I to deny ? They are soft and buttery to the touch and the high shine pigment packs a punch, and just check out these names!

Swatched from left to right Halloween (a peach) , Zero (white), Jack (copper) and Sally (Lilac)

Yep They put in a Nightmare before Christmas themed pallet. Upon checking the orange card that’s covered in cheerful pumpkins and screams happy Halloween across it . I discovered that it was a multipurpose eyeshadow / highlight palette .

The shades make a truly blinding highlight, apply well to the eyes , blend nicely and the sparkle is amazing. The other great thing about this pallet is it’s customisable so you can pop a shade out and take it with you , replace your favourite one when you get low or customise your own . VE is not a brand I have tried before but after testing this I will definitely be trying more .

The second item I pulled out was a bat . Not just any old bat though a bath bomb bat (yep I know). It’s from the unique creations soap company and literally smells like Halloween . The scent reminds me of long dark nights with a touch of candy.

Third out and I think I did let out a little squeal here  was a space mask . It’s a self heating eye mask and really does live up to its description . No sooner had I put this on I was whisked away to my own realm of relaxation…. pure bliss!

The fourth item is also from the unique creations soap company this time the bath bomb took the form of a shimmering spiders web that glistened in the light.

The 5th item is from w7 Very vegan liquid eyeliner in a pure black shade you really can’t get more Halloweeny than that . Yet again not a brand I have used before but I must say after trying I’m spooked. I have dropped a pretty penny or 2 on eye liners and this one honestly lives up the higher priced ones .

I swatched it on my hand and it was still there perfectly the next morning! It’s easy to apply, lasts well and shows up as true black.

And last but no least

A unisex perfume from Eden in fragrance 475

It’s a 10 ml spray bottle that instantly whisked me away to walking through a field along a coastal cliff. The naturally made musk tone to it died down and a fresh citrus smell stayed with me through-out  the day.

I love the way that Eden have been able create notes similar to musk using natural ingredients completely cruelty free.

Conclusion

This really is a box of treats fit for the queen of Halloween! The only spook I got was from how good everything was and how perfectly curated it is. I’m amazed honestly, there is nothing I haven’t used and enjoyed. It’s introduced me to new cruelty free vegan friendly brands.

The Halloween theme is executed perfectly through out and put me in the mood for one of my favourite times of the year.

Is it worth it ?
