What did the box contain?

Everything is packaged neatly into a beautiful pale nude pink box and the products are wrapped in white tissue paper that is sealed with a sticker with the Dearbump logo. Two little cards are inside the box, one that says Dearbump – Bloom, Nest, Love and the other providing details on your baby’s growth, best position your baby should be in at your stage of pregnancy and pregnancy symptoms and issues. They have also provided a little check list of ‘things to do’ before the baby arrives but as this is the last box this card has a hospital checklist reminding you of those important extras that need to go in your hospital maternity bag.

Candy Kittens Sweet Pineapple Sweets

These pineapple treats are sure to transport you to a more tropical climate. Made using the finest possible ingredients and using natural colours and natural ingredients.
What Debi thought: this was chewy and delicious. It wasn’t too sweet or strong in flavour and you’re given a good quantity. Its vegan, gluten free with natural favours, natural colours- all added bonuses.

The Protein Ball Co. Cherry & Almond

If you like Cherry Bakewell + want high protein – then these protein balls really are the cherry on top of the cake! What Debi thought: All natural, made with raw pitted dates, free-range egg white protein, juicy sultanas & sour cherries, plus it’s 20% protein. A very delicious sounding healthy snack, I have decided to save these in my maternity bag for that much needed energy during labour.

Oloves Chilli & Oregano Olives

Plump succulent pitted green olives lovingly marinated with a cheeky Chilli, garlic and oregano. Oloves are a great healthy on the go snack, loved by kids and adults alike.
What Debi thought: The flavour is chilli oregano. I have yet to try these, but I love olives and chilli and so these should be lovely. I have kept these as a snack for labour and have packed them in my maternity bag. There’s no liquid in the sachet for easy snacking and its nut, gluten, wheat and dairy free! Plus, there is only 50 calories per guilt free packet!

Balm Balm Baby Balm

Made from shea butter, sunflower, beeswax, jojoba & calendula, gently melted together to create a medium soft balm formulation to soothe, moisturise and nourish.
What Debi thought: This is a multipurpose baby balm made from 100% organic natural ingredients. It is fragrance free and can be used for both mum and baby. It can be used as a bottom balm or to combat cradle cap or sore wind chapped or dribbled on skin. It goes on thick and smooth, but melts into the skin leaving no residue just soft skin.

FreyaLuna Calendula & Sweet Violet Seriously Soothing Salve

Our highly moisturising and soothing buttery salve is formulated specifically for those suffering from dry, flaky skin, and can be helpful for those with eczema or psoriasis. Massage into skin morning and evening to maintain healthy, clear skin. Alternatively, use as a “spot treatment” to quickly soothe dry patches and flair-ups. This is a seriously rich and buttery formula, so a little really does go a long way
What Debi thought: This smells like I’m walking through a fragrant field but it’s not at all overpowering. Ingredients include shea butter, sesame seed oil, sweet violet leaf and calendula- all with several different benefits. It specifically for those suffering from dry, flaky skin such as eczema. It has a thick consistency which is quickly absorbed into the skin. I’ve been using this on my stomach where it has been stretched to the max making it rather itchy and it has really helped. It does leave a slight oiliness on the skin, but I do not mind this.

Kitenest Organic Dry Shampoo

This dry shampoo is made from a combination of plant powders, clays and a unique blend of Grapefruit and Lime organic essential oils, which will leave your hair smelling fresh and revitalise your senses. This is a 100% natural and organic product, cruelty free, Talc-free, suitable for vegans, and free from any nasties (no toxic chemicals or GMO’s)
What Debi thought: It quickly absorbs hair oil without leaving a white residue. I personally prefer this to the sprays you buy in stores as I do not want my baby to get a lungful of chemicals every time I use aerosols.

First Days Maternity Supplies Instant Perineal Cold Pack

Perineal Cold Packs are designed to promote healing and reduce the pain, swelling and bruising of the perineal area following childbirth.
What Debi thought: This is a convenient single use pad with instant activation, designed to offer relief for 40 minutes. I’ve kept this in my maternity bag and hopefully this will help with pain and discomfort after labour. It should also help with swelling and bruising. I didn’t know there was such a thing and if successful I will be sure to purchase more.

The Konjac Sponge Co. Original 6 Way Sponge

The 6 Wave Konjac Body Sponge is designed to gently exfoliate the body and soothe and cleanse all over! Gently exfoliating and sloughing off tired dead skin cells and helping reduce blemishes, ingrown hairs and generally keeping the skin in tip top condition. Your skin will feel smooth, and supple after use. No tightness or dryness.
What Debi thought: This is specifically for sensitive, tired and dehydrated bodies. I’ve yet to use this, but I have kept it for my maternity bag. This sponge is designed to exfoliate and boost circulation; perfect for after labour. It’s certified vegan & cruelty free, 100% colouring & additive-free.

WaterWipes Purest Baby Wipes

A baby’s skin is much more delicate than your own. WaterWipes are the only wipe made using just 99.9% of water and a drop of grapefruit seed extract so are ideal for sensitive skin.
What Debi thought: These are the popular choice amongst many mothers because these wipes are made using just water and a drop of grapefruit seed extract (99.9% water to be exact). I’ve been given a sample size to try and have popped this in my maternity bag. On the back of the packet is a voucher for £1 off a purchase.

Due Date Pregnancy & Labour Massage Oil

Multi Award winning oil gives active physical and emotional support during pregnancy and labour.
What Debi thought: I have packed this into my maternity bag and hinted to the husband my expectations using this. Hopefully he does a good job and the oil will help relax me during labour.

Overall this box has exceeded my expectations. You can tell this box has been well thought out and researched making it perfect and somewhat essential for mums and especially first-time mums. Not only have I come across so many useful items (a lot of which has been packed into my maternity bag), but it has also forced me research things I may not have known otherwise. This box in particular has a whopping 10 items, making it more than good value. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Is it worth it?

When a box’s contents are worth double the price, you know it’s extremely good value for money! I honestly cannot praise the ladies at DearBump highly enough, they have created such a unique and well thought out box and gone out of their way to do their research to ensure all the products are safe for both mummy and bump. Most of the products are organic, vegan and contain essential oils rather than synthetics. The boxes contain products such as healthy snacks, pregnancy tea, beauty products, personal care products, gifts and treats for a much-needed pampering for mums to be. You can see the effort that has gone into this box, they’ve thought of all the ways that mums to be can relax and pamper themselves and enjoy being pregnant at the same time. As the boxes are tailored to each stage of pregnancy they’ve thought about the things that will help along the way, from snack cravings, combating stretch marks, to essential products to keep in your hospital maternity bag. I really like the cards that accompany the box too, especially the little growth comparisons to fruit and veg, which makes it easier to visualise what shape and size your baby is. Pregnancy can sometimes be difficult and scary, finding information and products for pregnancy isn’t always easy either. The beauty of this box is that it helps to support the journey into motherhood and make things that little bit stress free for mum, so she can relax and enjoy life growing inside her.
