Travel Box @ Generation Jetlag Review by Mel – January 2018

This months Box from Travel Box has a Wanderlust Theme! I was so excited to hear about this as I love all of the ideas that Dee who owns Travel Box has used to curate her boxes so far. I see all of the posts on the BoXession group and swoon, her box has never had a single bad word spoken about it and the recommendations are plenty!
Dee asked me over Christmas if I would like to review for her in the New Year, and of course I am always honoured to be asked. I am a firm believer in buying from Small Businesses and Handmade too. I think it is very important to support small, the extra care and love that goes into the boxes is above and beyond, and this one is no exception.
It arrived very swiftly by Royal Mail, and Dee messaged me to let me know it was on its way, the personal service indeed! I even got to choose the colour of one of the items as I will explain further down.
You can watch my full live unboxing here…

Time to test the goodies….
The Chocolate square was eaten the same night, by Archie and I. I was given no option to share. It was delicious and by no means small
The magnets I have placed on a metallic sign I have in my room, I also have the cushion on my bed as you can see below so it seemed right to keep them in the same room as they are so cute and they match. I love the ‘follow your heart’ and ‘adventure awaits’ slogans, they are very me! Especially as this year we are relocating 300 miles away for a new start. I am the type of person who does things out of love and passion, I am grounded and organised but I do wear my heart on my sleeve. These are so well suited to a new year box theme, good choice!

The Mini Notebook again follows the Wanderlust theme and all items are matching. The edges are gold with an elastic wrap closure on it. I needed a handbag sized one as I got a moleskin but it was far too big for my bag, this one is perfect!

The Makeup Revolution Lip Kit I got to choose the colour of, I am a red person so the ‘Duchess’ set was perfect for me. I went to a kids party yesterday with my two boys and wore this then. I admit I am not the best with lip liner so I am yet to master the art, but I LOVED the liquid lip, and would highly recommend this!

The Ultra Strobe Cream I have yet to try. I would use this when I do a full face of makeup for an occasion. For daily wear I tend to do the minimum, lips are a must! I do love the matt black packaging though, I am a sucker for things like that. To me less is more on makeup packaging. It looks luxury.

The one thing that Travel Box do that is different to any other box I have seen is they offer a VIP Status for long term subscribers. Here is how it works…

VIP Status

This is something that sets this Box aside from the rest… the VIP Treatment…

Bronze VIP Status

This kicks in once you have been a Subscriber for 3 month’s continuously. Your reward is that you receive your Box in the first batch, 5 days before everyone else

Silver VIP Status

6 Month’s continuous Subscription – You will already be receiving perks as a Bronze VIP member. As a Silver VIP you will also get an email shortly after the first of each month asking you to choose one of the items you want to receive from that month’s selection.

Gold VIP Status

9 Month’s continuous Subscription – You’re already benefitting from Bronze & Silver VIP perks – As an added extra you will also receive an additional item in all your future boxes.

Platinum VIP Status

12 Month’s continuous Subscription – You will continue to get Bronze, Silver and Gold VIP perks. Your items will now also get delivered in a deluxe box every month. You will also get an annual “birthday” gift.

My Verdict?

What a thoroughly thought out and amazing box. This would be suited to women of any age, from teen right through to glamorous gran!
I know for a fact that Dee cares about every single box she curates. There is nothing that says ‘mass produced’ about any of her boxes. They scream love, thought, care and attention to detail.
The pricing of Travel Box is bang on too, you are always getting at least double the value. The pricing is under the £20 mark after postage which I know is important as in my experience the BoXession ladies like to subscribe to more than one box, so the more affordable a box is, the more goodies they can buy!
You would be crazy not to give this box a try, as to me it ticks all the boxes!
Thank you my lovelies as always for reading,

Mel x
